Best Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread (16 ounces)
- 4 eggs beaten
- 2 tbsp butter melted
- 2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup applesauce
- 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp ground cloves
- 3/4 tsp ground ginger
- 3/4 tsp nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
Glaze
- 1 cup powder sugar
- 3 tbsp milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Spray 9x13 inch baking dish with nonstick baking spray. Cut or tear bread into small pieces. Place bread in dish and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl whisk together eggs, butter, milk, sugar, applesauce, cinnamon, ground cloves, ground ginger, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Pour over the bread and saturate bread well. Press down any bread that is not covered in the egg mixture.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place in oven for 45-50 minutes. Let cool for ten minutes before icing.
